In this article we will be focusing on the 55 plus communities in Oceanside CA, the 92056 zip code specifically. I am only including attached homes and condominiums. There are some manufactured home parks that are in the area but my focus is on real property.

There are five 55 plus communities in Oceanside CA that we will address:

Each of these 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca, offer different amenities with corresponding homeowner association fees, for instance Costa Serena and Peacock Hills have $3.00 per month fees for their twin home properties. Whereas Ocean Hills Senior Living Community has a $499.00 per month fee but have a par 55 executive golf course with no green fees for owners and guests.

Tri City Medical Center

The most affordable 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca are in the Tri-city area of Oceanside. The 92056 zip code has the most centrally located communities also, as the furthest community to a major hospital (Tri-City Medical Center) is approximately 5.5 miles and the drive to the Oceanside Pier is 12.5 miles. There is substantial shopping very close to each community, Costco, Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl’s, Home Depot and numerous grocery stores.

The weather here is great. The hottest monthly average is August with 77 degrees average, the coldest month is December with 65 degrees average. There is very little rain and numerous outdoor activities to take advantage of the weather throughout the year.

Ocean Hills Senior Living Community

There is a solar heated Junior Olympic-sized pool and spa that offer exercise and enjoyment for serious swimmers, water volley-ball enthusiasts, water aerobics classes or just floating around and relaxing on a beautiful day.  A large, adjacent lanai provides a space for summer-time pool-side parties.

If you’re a lover of racquet sports, they have  tennis courts and paddle tennis/pickle-ball courts which are open throughout the community. And, for those who like to roll a ball or two, there’s bocce and croquet lawns. Shuffleboard courts are also here.

The center of many activities resides at their Clubhouse. The 27,000 square foot facility, the largest in all 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca, hosts a fitness center with both cardio and strength rooms along with locker rooms with showers; a computer room with PCs, Macs, printers and scanners; a large performance hall that holds 500 for a show or 250 for a dance party; a library; a billiards room; a media room; a sewing room; a crafts room, and several other individual meeting and club rooms. The well-equipped woodworking shop is located in another building.

Park areas, for people and pets dot the community. Among them, a private, fenced, off-leash dog park. Plus they  have a 2 1/2-mile walking circuit with just enough hills to get your heart pumping.

An always-manned entry gate and around-the-clock Community Patrol is a great benefit to residents. Electronic monitoring systems are also installed in each villa for safety, fire and health emergencies. If you own an RV, they have a private, secure, free, on-site RV parking lot.

Pacifica Oceanside Manor

Located in the Tri-City area of North San Diego County, Pacifica is one of the nicest 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca and all of Southern California. The community offers a lovely heated pool and hot tub, sauna, two tennis courts, a pickle ball court, shuffle board courts, barbecue area and lovely clubhouse.  Within the clubhouse are a pool tables, a ping pong table, a well stocked lending library and fully equipped kitchen.  There are also lovely walking paths throughout and a beautiful park with benches facing to the western sunsets.

If you are a bridge player, line dancer, lover of knitting and much more, there are plenty of activities for you to enjoy.  Plus there are “first Friday” socials and other events throughout the year including 4th of July, December holiday party and Memorial Day. This is one of the most socially active 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca.

Although the homes were built in the 70’s, the homes and community are very well maintained and the association is in great financial shape.  Homes are a combination of attached and detached homes and has eight different models.  Come and explore this wonderful community – you will fall in love!

Villa Trieste Oceanside Ca In Rancho Del Oro

Villa Trieste is situated just north of I-78, four miles from the ocean one of two gated 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca within North San Diego County. There are 150 condos and duplex homes located high enough to capture cool breezes and sporadic ocean views. This community features a small 1,800 square foot clubhouse, outdoor pool and plenty of activities.

There are both condominiums and duplexes. The condominiums are two-story buildings that feature single-level living on either the upper or lower floor. These units have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and range from around 1,000 to over 1,300 square feet. Each condo includes a patio or balcony, fireplace and a one-car detached garage plus an additional uncovered parking space.

The duplex homes in Villa Trieste include main-level living with the kitchen and master bedroom on the lower level plus a loft ideal for use as a family room, office or guest bedroom. The duplexes include two bedrooms, two bathrooms plus an attached two-car garage. They range in size from around 1,700 to over 1,800 square feet. 

Peacock Hills Senior Community

Nestled in a balmy enclave 6 ½ miles from the Pacific Ocean in Oceanside, Southern California, residents of the 920 homes in Peacock Hills Senior Community. With all-year smog less skies, life in Peacock Hills is generally quiet and peaceful, with very broad avenues, paved sidewalks, lighted streets and well-maintained home.

The large lots and low home owners fees makes Peacock hills one of the best 55 plus communities in Oceanside Ca. The affordability of these units and huge demand from snowbirds during winter makes this a great way to buy a second home (click here for a link to my page).

Costa Serena Oceanside

Costa Serena is another one of the  55 plus communities in Oceanside CA. Developed between 1971 and 1982. With 696 attached homes in various floor plans that range in size from approximately 827 to 1,350 square feet, some with ocean views there is sure to be a size and style for any buyer. These homes offer two or three bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, an attached one-car garage and have large, private yards.

These properties lend themselves to easily create an additional dwelling unit (click here for a link to my ADU page) on them for either an assisted living quarters or an income producing unit this is a huge selling point for these 55+ communities in Oceanside Ca.

The spectacular location is another major draw for homeowners here, being just off the 78 freeway and less than 5 minutes from a hospital, restaurants and shopping. When Costa Serena homes for sale come on the market they don’t last long.
